Why Build Wellify?

How does it work?

  1. Only registered and credible mental health and wellness experts are allowed to post. Admins manually verify professionals by looking up their license numbers on using admin dashboard. This ensures our goal of “responsible influencing”.

  2. Users can follow the professionals they want to hear from and can also contact them for consultations.

What makes Wellify different?

How was it built?

Wellify was built during IEEE Codefury 6.0 organised by UVCE, Bangalore. The frontend was built using Vite + ReactJS, styled using Tailwind CSS. Firebase was used as a backend, along with many of its features like: Login with Google, user management, profile picture storage and database.

How can it be better?

We can add Machine Learning algorithms to suggest posts and help users network better.

Verification is currently done manually, but we have found an API developed by the government to look up medical professionals' details using their license number. We can integrate this into the Admin Dashboard.

How was my experience?

The experience of attending a 24 hour hackathon from home and coordinating with Hisham over Google Meet calls was definitely a new one. We challenged ourselves and eventually pulled through! From ideation, to the shock of being selected in the final few, to scrambling to prepare a presentation for the judges while barely awake, it was a thrilling ride and seeing "Team WhiteHatSeniors" in first place felt unreal.

In the end, it was an amazing experience where I learnt a lot. I'm extremely grateful for everything that happened that day and my friend, Hisham who motivated us both even in the times when we felt like we couldn't make it.

Winners!
